Young Green Skills Champions (TOTs)

Climate Change Adaptation Awareness Initiative
We recently facilitates and led a long-term climate change awareness program in Galkacyo, Mudug, Puntland, Somalia, under the initiative “Young Green Skills Champions (TOTs)”. This program was designed to equip trainers with the knowledge and skills necessary to address climate change and promote adaptation strategies. Supported by the Puntland Ministry of Youth and Sports and funded by UNICEF, the initiative included a range of impactful activities to tackle environmental challenges.
Key Achievements:

  1. Community Awareness and Training:
    Conducted workshops and training sessions to educate communities on climate adaptation and resilience strategies.
  2. Environmental Action:
    Led cleanliness campaigns to improve local sanitation and environmental health.
    Organized tree-planting drives to promote reforestation and combat desertification.
  3. Research and Data Collection:
    Conducted surveys on the types and usage of cooking gas within urban areas to understand its environmental impact.
    As a facilitators, trainers, We played a pivotal role in delivering impactful sessions, coordinating activities, and documenting progress. This initiative empowered communities with knowledge and practical actions to address climate change, paving the way for sustainable development in Galkacyo and beyond..
