About Us
Somali Adaptation for Environment (SAFE) is a Somali environmental and community-focused organization established in 2023 with a commitment to supporting climate change adaptation, environmental protection, sustainable land management, and community resilience in Somalia.
SAFE was founded in response to the growing environmental and climate-related challenges affecting communities across Somalia, including recurrent droughts and floods, land degradation, deforestation, loss of vegetation, environmental pollution, water-related challenges, and increasing pressure on natural resources. We believe that addressing these challenges requires locally led solutions, stronger community participation, environmental education, youth engagement, and collaboration among communities, civil society organizations, institutions, and other stakeholders.
